Two of her passions brought together by combining a Makeup Shop and Crystal Apothecary. Inner beauty is nurtured with unique altar tools such as sage wands, candles, herbs, potions, crystals and tarot that help with ritual and meditation . Outer beauty is all about makeup and skin care hand picked by Melanie from her favorite brands that she has relied upon as a professional makeup artist through her 25 year career. The first pro makeup store that professional Nashvillian makeup artists can grab their must have essentials as well as enjoy unique education from the makeup industry's top artists. As far as skin care and makeup the shop will cater to both makeup lovers and professional makeup artists.

For pro makeup artist’s our set up or makeup station, where ever it may be, is essentially a beauty altar to provide a personalized unique clean space where creativity can flow. With meditation rituals or places of prayer it is important as well to have a dedicated space creating an altar to magnify the intentions and prayers set forth, hence "The Makeup Altar".

Set in an old historical 1920’s home The Makeup Altar will offer makeup, skin care, makeup brushes and tools, pro makeup supplies, makeup services, crystals, tarot, sage wands, candles and more.

Melanie and her husband Nick were drawn to East Nashville to live as well as work because of it’s old unique homes, laid back energy, artistic vibes and it’s strong sense of community.

It’s the hub of local art’s, boutique shopping, lots of music, great restaurants and bars. Melanie is excited to bring together community and events will be common here.
