How to Use Kryolan Artex with Flocking

Create Realistic Scars, Wounds, Burns & 3D Skin Effects!

Kryolan Artex is a two-part silicone used to sculpt realistic wounds, scars, burns, and raised skin effects directly onto the skin. Add Kryolan Flocking for natural-looking skin tones, veins, and dimension.

What You'll Need

  • Kryolan Artex (Parts A & B)
  • Kryolan Flocking
  • Mixing palette and separate spatulas
  • Sculpting tool or rubber pore sponge
  • Cream or alcohol-activated FX makeup
  • Optional: Fake blood or scab products

Step 1: Prep Your Skin

Start with clean, dry, oil-free skin.

Step 2: Mix Artex & Flocking

  • Using separate spatulas, measure equal amounts of Parts A and B (1:1 ratio).
  • Mix a tiny amount of Flocking into Part A before combining with Part B.
  • Blend thoroughly and work quickly! Artex begins setting in approximately 5–6 minutes.

PRO TIP: A little Flocking goes a long way! Mix different colors to mimic natural skin undertones and tiny veins.

Step 3: Sculpt Your Effect

Apply directly to skin using a spatula. Sculpt scars, wounds, burns, or raised textures, feathering the edges into the skin. Create cuts or grooves while the silicone is still workable.

Step 4: Texture & Set

Gently stipple with a rubber pore sponge for realistic skin texture. Allow to cure completely before applying makeup.

Step 5: Color & Finish

Add depth with compatible FX makeup. Finish with fake blood or scab products for gruesome effects!

MAKEUP ARTIST TIP: Flocking adds color inside the silicone for a more realistic, skin-like finish!

How to Remove Kryolan Artex

  • Loosen an Edge: Gently lift one edge of the cured Artex using your fingertips.
  • Slowly Peel Away: Carefully peel the silicone from the skin, supporting the surrounding skin to avoid pulling or irritation.
  • For Stubborn Areas: Never force it! Work slowly around fine hairs. If necessary, use a compatible skin-safe silicone adhesive remover.
  • Cleanse & Moisturize: Remove remaining makeup with a gentle cleanser and finish with moisturizer.

PRO TIP: Artex generally peels away without a special remover. Never scrape, scrub, or aggressively pull it from the skin!

Important Safety Tips

  • Use only on healthy, intact skin.
  • Avoid eyes, lips, irritated areas, and open wounds.
  • Keep Parts A and B separate until ready to mix.
  • Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
  • Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Use a spatula to create detailed textures like cuts, burns, or cracked skin.
